- Introduction: Families are invited out for a mid-morning movie at your library.
FREE: Kids and parents are invited to join your South Branch Library for a great mid-morning movie. Hosted twice a month, each session features popular family flicks you’ll certainly want to watch and time and time again. At this showing, we’ll be featuring a critically acclaimed Dreamworks animated film, loosely adapted from a children’s book series, with 2010’s “How to Train Your Dragon” including the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. In this film, young Viking, Hiccup, wants to join his town’s fight against the dragons that continually raid their town. However, his father and village leader, Stoik the Vast, will not allow his clumsy son to do so. Regardless, Hiccup ventures out into battle and downs a mysterious Night Fury dragon with his invention, but can’t bring himself to kill it. Instead, he and the dragon, whom he dubs Toothless, begins a friendship that would open up both their worlds as the observant boy learns that his people have misjudged the species. This film is rated PG for sequences of intense action and some scary images, and brief mild language, and has a run time of 1 hour and 38 minutes. Light snacks will be served, or feel free to bring in your own snacks and food for the movie. For additional information, contact staff at 325-698-7565.Return to full list >>
