FREE: If you’re looking to catch some great movies at your Abilene Public Library, don’t miss out on being a part of the Saturday Matinee sessions at your South Branch Library.  Hosted on the 2nd and 4th Saturday afternoons of each month, these sessions feature great hits from all genres. This time around, we’re showing a great drama and thriller with 2018’s “Searching” that stars John Cho and Debra Messing.  In this highly rated flick, after David’s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter’s laptop.  In a hyper-modem thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter’s digital footprints before she disappears forever. This film is rated PG-13 for thematic content, some drug, and sexual references, and for language, and has a run time of 1 hour and 42 minutes.  Light snacks will be served, or feel free to bring your own, and for additional information about this program, contact staff at 325-698-7565.
