Zoo Waives Admission for Harvey Evacuees
Through the month of September, the Abilene Zoo will be waiving general admission fees for those individuals displaced by hurricane Harvey. “We’re happy to offer folks, who have gone through so much, the opportunity to have a place they can visit to relax and enjoy.” Says Zoo Executive Director Bill Gersonde. Guests requesting the free admission will need to show a photo ID.
About the Abilene Zoo: The Abilene Zoo is home to more than 1000 animals of 250 different species. The zoo is open 7 days a week (closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last admittance is 4 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4.50 for children ages 3-12, $6 for seniors aged 60+.
