Lake Kirby Survey
The City of Abilene Community Services Department is seeking feedback on Lake Kirby and invites the community to participate in a citizen survey.
In June, the Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas presented $200,000 to the City of Abilene to create a natural play and education facility and fund a Lake Kirby master plan. Vista Planning & Design is currently drafting the master plan, but an important piece of developing the master plan is getting public feedback.
“We are looking for valuable feedback on what new and exciting things the community would like to see at Lake Kirby,” said Lesli Andrews, Director of Community Services. “We have already had many ideas shared, but would like more as we want to incorporate as much as possible into the plan.”
Previous discussions have produced ideas such as hiking and biking trails, camping areas, an education center, better fishing opportunities, a BMX track, improvements and/or expansion to the ball fields, bird watching, photography, and much more.
Please take 3-5 minutes and visit http://abilenetx.gov/parksandrec to take the eight (8) question survey and share with the City what you would like to see at Lake Kirby. The survey will close on December 18, 2017.
