Holiday at the Hall

Post Date:12/06/2017 1:03 PM

The City of Abilene, in partnership with KTXS, invites you to the first annual Holiday at the Hall on Saturday, December 16 at 5:30 PM.  Join us to enjoy an evening full of community and holiday cheer at City Hall, 555 Walnut Street

The event will kick off on Saturday with an Ugly Sweater Fun Walk/Run, the third Abilene Fit Together event encouraging families to get up, get out, and get moving!  Led by the Recreation Division and Mari Cockerell with KTXS, this free 1 mile fun walk/run will start at City Hall and lead you through the holiday lights of downtown Abilene, by Everman Park and then finish up at City Hall.  Deck yourselves out in the ugliest holiday sweater you can find for this festive stroll!

Break out your rolling pins and whisks and put your creative hat on to create your own Gingerbread House to be entered in Saturday’s Gingerbread House Competition.  There will be three categories to challenge participants of all ages; Traditional, Abilene Inspired, and Elf Inspired!  Judging will take place on Saturday and all entries will be on display at City Hall starting at 5:30 PM. Entries and entry forms are due on Wednesday, December 13.  For rules, entry forms and more information, please visit .

Wrap up your evening on the lawn of City Hall cuddled up with family and friends as we enjoy the movie Elf on the Parks and Recreation Division’s 32ft outdoor movie screen.

The celebration would not be complete without yummy treats, but we’ve got it covered as there will be food trucks on site ready to serve you dinner, desserts, and warm coffee all evening starting at 5:30 PM.

Santa Claus will be inside City Hall available to visit and take pictures, so bring those lists with you kids!  Grandma's cookies and warm apple cider will be available courtesy of the Senior Services Division.

For more information please visit or email us at  We look forward to seeing everyone out at this amazing community event.
