City of Abilene Accepting Applications for Federal HUD Grants
The City of Abilene, Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS), welcomes the opportunity to open the annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Application Process.
The ONS is currently accepting applications for funding of (CDBG) and (HOME) projects from interested non-profit organizations within the City Limits of Abilene. Applications may be obtained via the City of Abilene, website, http://www.abilenetx.gov/ONS, or at the ONS, located in City Hall, 555 Walnut Street, Suite 206. Completed Applications and supporting documentation must be submitted to the ONS no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, May 03, 2018.
CDBG and HOME funds will provide new opportunities to create partnerships with the ONS to address important community development needs. The Grant Application requires that funding criteria be met by selecting projects that meet at least one of the HUD determined National Objectives of CDBG/HOME Programs. In an effort to effectively address these issues, the City encourages prospective partners to develop projects that truly reflect the needs of the community. Projects must also correspond with the Goals and Objectives of the FY 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan. The application must also follow the CDBG/HOME Funding Guidelines approved by the Abilene City Council on July 10, 1997.
