Get Out Your Calendar: Mayor's Hike, Easter Egg Hunt, & Summer Jobs Ahead

Spring Mayor's Hike: Saturday, March 30th, 9:00 a.m., begins at 100 block of East South 11th St. (Maple and South 11th). Leashed dogs welcome, but strollers and bikes not allowed. Free & open to the public.
Easter egg hunt: Saturday, April 13th, 7:00 p.m., at the Lee Sports Complex. 25,000 eggs, and Easter Bunny available for photos – but be sure to bring your own basket!
Mayor's Race: Saturday, April 27th, 8 a.m., beginning at the Abilene Convention Center. 1K, 5K, and 10K races, all ages welcome. Costs range from $10 to $35 per person. First 100 registered get a t-shirt.
Splash Pads open: Tuesday, April 30th. Redbud, Sears, Nelson, Scarborough, and Stevenson Splash pads are free to the public, and operate sun up to sun down, seven days per week.
Summer jobs available
Energetic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic people can apply to work as camp counselors, lifeguards, cashiers, concessions, and more. Apply at www.cityofabilene.jobs or call (325) 676-6347.
Summer Camp 2019 registration
Sessions held at Cobb, Daniels, Rose, and Sears Rec Centers. Camp includes a t-shirt, swimming at Adventure Cove, breakfast, lunch, and field trips. Sessions 1-5 is $85/person, and $50/person for Session 6. Financial assistance available. More info at www.abilenetx.gov/camps, or (325) 676-6217.
Basketball & volleyball leagues
Registration now open for youth & adult basketball, and adult volleyball leagues. Basketball league is free for youth 13-21, and $45/adult. Volleyball open to all adults 18 and up, $45/player. More info at www.abilenetx.gov/signup, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
