Back to School Event Offers Immunizations, Physicals, Supplies, & More
The Abilene Taylor County Public Health District would like to invite the community to its annual Back to School Blowout, offering a variety of services to help parents and kids prepare for the upcoming school year.
Thursday, July 25th from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Abilene Taylor County Public Health District (850 North 6th Street), Abilene residents will have access to:
Back to school or sports physicals. Cost: $22. Texas Health Steps Exams will be available free of charge to Medicaid children not established with a pediatrician.
Immunizations (please bring school referrals and current shot records to expedite service).
Lead and hemoglobin testing (free of charge for Headstart children)
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services. Benefit issuance will be available to attending families already enrolled.
Free backpacks will be given to the first 200 school aged children at Blowout, thanks to a sponsorship from VFW Post 6873.
Several other community partners offering family support services and additional school supply giveaways will also be available.
