Minter Park
Renovations to Downtown Abilene's Vera Hall Minter Park were completed in July of 2020.
Abilene's Parks and Recreation Board voted to move forward with the $500,000 project to rehabilitate the city park at the corner of Cypress and North 2nd Streets. Funding for the renovation came from a combination of sources including private fundraising, TIRZ funds, grants, and Minor Improvement Project funds from the City.
Features include a new digital waterfall and limestone wall, overhead projectors, a storybook garden, and a small area for outdoor performances and concerts.
