Transforming Abilene, One Space at a Time!

The Abilene Adopt-A-Spot program offers a unique opportunity for individuals and groups to showcase their pride in Abilene by becoming environmental stewards. Participants voluntarily adopt a public area, committing to its care and enhancement with the shared goals of reducing litter and beautifying our community.

By joining the Adopt-A-Spot initiative, you're not just adopting a location; you're adopting a commitment to Abilene's well-being. It's a chance to make a meaningful impact, one space at a time, and help us keep Abilene beautiful. We provide the resources, support, and recognition you need to succeed in this inspiring journey.

Here’s How It Works:

  1. Identify a street or creek near your home, place of business or organization’s meeting place.
  2. Designate a contact person. Someone who is responsible for announcing cleanup dates, organizing volunteers, requesting cleaning supplies from KAB.
  3. Host your cleanup event. Complete the end-of-event report.

Program Guidelines:

  • Volunteers agree to adopt an area for at least two years.
  • All participants must have a signed waiver on file at Keep Abilene Beautiful.
  • Groups must host a minimum of one clean-up per quarter or (4) cleanups a year.
  • Youth groups are required to have a minimum of one adult chaperone for every 10 youth.
  • All groups are required to submit a report after each cleanup.
