About Evening Service

Evening Service is an extension of the regular public transportation services offered by CityLink. The Evening Service is being funded as a program through a combination of sources intended to expand access to employment opportunities by increasing the availability of community transportation services. Funding sources include an “Access to Jobs” activity provided by the Federal Transit Administration and Community Development Block Grant funds allocated by the City of Abilene. The primary purpose of the program is to provide transportation for individuals to get to and from work or job training and school programs. However, the service is available for use by the general public for other purposes on a space available basis after work transportation needs are met. Available seating space on the service may be limited.

Service Times

Demand-response evening service is provided from 6:15 pm until 11:45 pm, Monday through Saturday.


To be certified for CityLink Evening service, you will need to submit a completed application. Proof of income is required, and the certification process will take between 5-7 days to complete.

  • Print and fill out an Evening Service Application (PDF) and drop it off at the CityLink dispatch window in our customer waiting area
  • Stop by CityLink at 1189 S 2nd Street between 7 am and 6 pm

General Service Fares

The general fare is $6 per passenger for each one-way trip anywhere within the Abilene city limits. Children age 4 and under, who are accompanied by a fare-paying adult, may ride free. For convenience, 10-ride book of tickets are sold for $60.

CDBG Service for School or Work

The CDBG program fare is $2.50 for a one-way trip anywhere within the Abilene city limits. To verify your employment, please submit with your application a copy of a paystub or letter from your employment HR department stating how much you make per hour and how many hours per week you work.

Trips may be booked up to 14 days in advance, but must be booked no later than 5:00 p.m. for service the next operating day. Trips will be scheduled on a space-available basis. Please be aware that a trip request time may not always be available for booking.

To schedule a trip:

  • Call (325) 676-6287 option 2 from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Saturday
  • All calls after 6 pm, choose option 1
  • Register with our Web Portal to schedule your trips online at least 3 days in advance
