Proposition 4: Public Safety
The 2015 bond package included $12,865,000 for public safety improvements.The Public Safety proposition includes:
- New fire apparatus maintenance facility
- New police records building
- Replacement of fire stations 3, 4, and 7
- Updates to the Fire Training Facility

Police Records Facility

Fire Stations 3 and 7 were completed in the spring of 2018. Station 3 is at Vine and South 17th streets behind Jefferson Center, and Station 7 is on North Pioneer Drive, north of First Street.
All three stations have similar design that features larger apparatus bays and living areas, as well as space for future expansions.

Construction began in November 2016 on the new Fire Fleet Maintenance Facility, at Abilene Regional Airport near Loop 322. The facility will have multiple apparatus bays, specialized maintenance equipment, and customized storage and office space. It is expected to be completed in August or September 2017.
