Proposition 9: Airport
The 2015 bond program dedicates $4.2 million to Proposition 9 for airport improvements. By approving this measure, Abilene Regional Airport will receive an additional $38 million in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport improvement grants, funding the projects listed below.
Priority of projects may be adjusted depending on airfield needs and direction from the FAA.

Airport Master Plan & Security Updates

A ramp rehabilitation project on the northwest side of the airport is expected to begin in 2020 or 2021, using Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant funds carried over from 2018-20.
Runway 17R / 35L Reconstruction
