[ARCHIVED] Structure Fire: 5300 Block of Wagon Wheel Avenue

On 16 June 2021, at approximately 12:31 P.M., the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire located in the 5300 block of Wagon Wheel Ave., Abilene Texas. The first in crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming out of the garage area of the structure which had extended to two vehicles. A second alarm was called due to the amount of fire and smoke with the residence and two vehicles being involved. One adult and three children were home at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate without injury. The fire extended into the attic area and garage area only. The interior of the residence suffered smoke and water damage. The Red Cross was notified and will be assisting the residents. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental due to electrical failure, value of damage is estimated at $80,000.
