On Saturday, July 3, 2021 at approximately 12:30 am, crews with the Abilene Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 2000 block of South 20th Street. On arrival, crews found a single family dwelling with heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the structure. A quick attack was made on the fire and the crews were able to extinguish the fire. No residents were home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the estimated value of damage is $25,000.
