Fatal Motorcycle Crash

ABILENE, TX – A 29-year-old Abilene man has died from injuries sustained when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle. 29-year-old Andrew David Baker of Abilene passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash that occurred at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021. Baker was riding a 2007 Kawasaki dirt bike, headed west in the 5200 block of Laguna at a high rate of speed. He disobeyed the stop sign at the Presidio St. intersection and crashed into a 1991 Mercedes Benz that was headed south on Presidio. Baker was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Justice of the Peace. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured. Baker was not wearing a helmet. Next-of-kin notification was made. The investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
