[ARCHIVED] Abilene Police Investigating Homicide of 20 yr. old Male


ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the Homicide of a male that occurred at a home in North Abilene.

On Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at 7:45 p.m., police received a call of a shooting of a male at a home located in the 2500 blk. of Rountree Drive. Police arrived to find a Hispanic male deceased from an apparent gunshot. Police immediately secured the scene. Criminal Investigation Detectives arrived and began an investigation.

The victim, 20-year old David Devora, was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper area of his body. It appears he was shot through the door as he was standing on the other side. At least two other males who were also inside the home were not injured and did give statements to detectives. Devora was in Abilene for the holidays visiting family. No arrests have been made in connection with this case, and the investigation is ongoing.
