Your South Branch Library will be hosting its Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest, and now’s the time to start planning your pumpkin creations. So get out to your local store or pumpkin patch, and while you’re picking one up to carve later on for Halloween, pick up another or this fun contest.
Unlike the traditional pumpkin you carve, we’re asking that you NOT carve these pumpkins. However, feel free to decorate in any other way you can think of such as paints, accessories, and other items. Let your creativity fly while you come up with the perfect design for your pumpkin to show off your master pumpkin decorating skills.
All ages are invited to participate and you may enter the contest as an individual, or as a team/family. There will be five 5 categories of judging for different age ranges including ages 0-6, 7-12, 13-17, 18 and older, and team/family. Once you’ve decorated your pumpkin, drop them off at the South Branch Library between October 21-24. We’ll then setup all the entries for public viewing from October 25-30.
During this time, all visitors to the South Branch Library will be able to vote for their favorites in each age category. If unable to make it to the library, we’ll post an album on Facebook for our followers to see. You may vote online for your favorite by simply clicking the “like” button.
Voting will end on October 29 at the end of the business day and the winners will be announced the following Saturday at Noon. You don’t have to be present to win.
We hope you’ll participate in this year’s contest, and if you have any questions, contact Alyssa Crow at 325-698-7565.
