ABILENE, TX – On Monday, October 11, 2021, the Abilene Police Department arrested 22-year-old Malik Tyrese Corbin for the shooting death of 43-year-old Edward Daniels. In addition to the First Degree Felony Murder charge, Corbin has been charged with Second Degree Felony Aggravated Assault, Third Degree Felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Third Degree Felony Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, and State Jail Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, to wit: Methamphetamine. Corbin has been booked into the Taylor County Jail. His jail booking photo is not yet available.
An additional arrest has been made. Abilene resident Cassandra Greene, 35, has been arrested for her involvement in this incident. Greene witnessed the incident and allegedly provided false information to investigators concerning the whereabouts of Corbin in an attempt to prevent his arrest. Greene has been charged with Third Degree Felony Hindering Apprehension and booked into the Taylor County Jail.
