The Abilene Police Department will introduce the newly graduated and newly formed Mounted Unit during the APD Trunk or Treat on Thursday, October 28, 2021, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Unit is comprised of four Abilene Police Department Officers and their personal horses that will serve as the APD Mounted Unit.
The Officers and their horses will be located in an area available for the public to interact with. “This is a proud moment for the Department and for our community. It is a chance for these goodwill ambassadors to have positive interactions with our community. Abilene will see the Mounted Unit at various events throughout the community.” – Chief Marcus Dudley. The community is welcome to come out and see our officers and their horses.
