Cardboard recycling returns to Abilene drop-off recycling centers

cardboard recycling returns to abilene drop off centers

The City of Abilene is pleased to announce the return of cardboard recycling at its recycling drop-off centers, effective immediately.

The Abilene area vendor that collects recyclable materials has partnered with a new buyer that now accepts cardboard products. This gives the City of Abilene the ability to collect cardboard materials and transfer them to a vendor for recycling, instead of having to discard it as a waste product.

Residents who wish to recycle cardboard products can now place clean cardboard into the appropriate containers at any of the City’s eight recycling drop-off sites. A list of those neighborhood recycling drop-off sites can be found here, or by visiting and clicking on ‘recycling centers’ on the side menu.

Please note; any cardboard left on the ground outside of drop-off site containers is considered contaminated, and can no longer be recycled. In the event a cardboard recycling container is full, it is best to wait and return to the drop-off site after the container has been emptied.
