Did you know all library branches offer spaces for groups to meet? Although we do not rent out our spaces for parties, birthdays, baby showers, etc., our rooms are available (when not in use by the library) for community-sponsored programs and meetings that are educational, cultural, and civic in nature.
For non-profit groups, use of the room is free; all other groups will come at a cost of $10.00 per hour if booking a room at the Main Library or Mockingbird Branch and $50.00 for two hours if booking the South Branch Library. Please note these charges are only for our larger meeting spaces and do not apply to use of the study rooms as those are free and open to anyone in the public by reservation.
To book a room, contact the branch library and we'll check on the date/s being requested to see if we can temporarily secure it for you. If we can, you still need to visit the library to complete a reservation form to finalize your booking in person to complete a Meeting Room Reservation Form to finalize your room reservation. At this time, we’ll go over the remainder of the rules for use of the facility, and answer any questions you may have.
The Main Library offers access to an auditorium that can seat 140 people with chairs, 80 people with tables and chairs. There’s also access to a stage for performances too. A smaller conference room is available to be booked at the Main Library as well, which seats 12 people at a large table. The Mockingbird Branch offers access to an Activity Room that seats 75 people, and 48 people with tables. At these locations, you also have access to a laptop, projector, and screen if needed
The South Branch Library offers a meeting room that can be booked that seats 80 people with chairs only and 40 people with tables. This location offers the use of a laptop if requested, which can be used to present to three 75” flat screen monitors situated at the front of the room. Microphones and additional AV equipment available upon request.
So the next time you’re looking to book a space for your next meeting, feel free to contact your library to see if we can accommodate you.
