On February 25, 2022 at approximately 6:17 a.m. the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire located on the 4100 block of North 14th Street, Abilene Texas. AFD fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames escaping from the side of the house. The fire was contained and extinguished without incident. The structure was occupied at the time of the fire, 6 residents were able to get out without injury. One resident was transported to HMC North due to a medical complaint. Three dogs were in the residence at the time of the fire, two of the dogs were located and are healthy, one dog remains unaccounted for. There were no injuries to the public, police or fire personnel. The American Red Cross has been notified and will be assisting the residents. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
