[ARCHIVED] Structure Fire: 4900 Block of Oaklawn Ct

Structure Fire - Abilene Fire Department News

On Sunday, March 27, 2022 at approximately 12:01 pm, crews with the Abilene Fire Department responded to the 4900 block of Oaklawn Ct. in reference to a residential structure fire. On arrival, crews observed a single family dwelling with smoke and flames coming from the rear of the structure. A quick attack was made and during the attack it was noted that a neighboring structure was also involved. Due to the wind direction and speed, the fire from the primary structure spread to the neighboring home starting a second fire. An attack was made on the second structure limiting the damage and containing the fire to one side of the residence. There where residence home at the time of the fire and all parties were able to exit their homes without injury. The damage resulting from the fire is estimated to be $75,000 and the fire is still under investigation. The American Red Cross was notified.
