ABILENE, TX – In December 2019, the Abilene Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit Investigators began working a case of Promotion of Child Pornography which occurred in the 1300 Block of Westheimer Rd. The suspect, Travis Charles Tuckness, 28 years-or-age, was visiting a girlfriend. Subsequently, multiple search warrants were executed which eventually led detectives to Hillsboro, TX, a community located between Ft. Worth and Waco.
On January 28, 2020, officers executed a search warrant in the 1500 Block of Hillview Dr. in Hillsboro, TX. Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Hillsboro Police Department assisted in the execution of the search warrant. Tuckness, was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Tom Green County for Online Impersonation. Electronic were seized from the suspect pursuant to the search warrant for the Promotion of Child Pornography.
On January 29, 2020, Abilene Police Cyber Crimes Detectives secured an arrest warrant from the Taylor County District Attorney’s Office for Tuckness, charging him with Promotion of Child Pornography, a Second Degree Felony. Tuckness is currently being held in the Hill County jail on $60,000 in bonds.
