As the Friends of the Library’s Annual Book Sale approaches, we’d like to make you aware of some changes to the donation schedule coming soon. The Friends’ will temporarily stop receiving donations starting Friday, May 27 through Wednesday, July 6.
During this time, they’ll finish boxing up the remainder of the donations received for this year’s sale, and working to transport them to the Abilene Convention Center the week of the sale, again running June 16-19.
After the sale, the Friends’ will begin receiving donations on Thursday, July 7, returning to their regular donation schedule of Mondays and Thursdays from 10AM to 2PM, Saturdays from 10AM to Noon at your Main Library. This will give the hardworking book sale volunteers, working throughout the year, a chance to rest before then receiving donations for 2023’s sale.
As a reminder, all donations should be dropped off at the Main Library as the smaller branches are unable to transport your donations to the Main Library.
So until May 27, feel free to continue donating materials for this year’s sale. Simply drive through the alley at the Main Library by the double doors, ring the bell, and volunteers will come to help you unload your donations. If you have a lot of materials to donate, we ask that you Email the Friends so they may setup a time to have you deliver them, to ensure they have enough volunteers on hand.
If you have any questions regarding the adjustments to the donation schedule, feel free to let us know. We thank you for your cooperation.
