[ARCHIVED] Update: Arrest Made in South Abilene Homicide

Update: On Wednesday, January 30, 2020, detectives with the Abilene Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested 19-year-old Javeeontae Evans and charged him with the murder of Jaden Hernandez. Evans is charged with Capital Murder and is being held at the Taylor County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.

ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department was called out to the Little Elm Condominiums on South 7th and Ruidoso St. just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2019, for a possible shooting victim. Police arrived to find a male victim, possibly Hispanic, laying in the parking area on the north end of the complex. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Justice of the Peace a short time later. The identity of the victim is pending notification next of kin.

The Department is releasing this photo of the victim in hopes of helping to identify him. If you have any information on his identity, you are asked to contact the Abilene Police Department’s non-emergency number (325) 673-8331.
