On July 06, 2022 at approximately 4:17 a.m. the Abilene Fire Department responded to a 2 alarm commercial structure fire located on the 1000 block of North Mockingbird. AFD fire crews arrived to find a fully involved commercial structure with fire venting from the roof. A defensive attack was made due to the amount if fire involvement. The roof of the structure and the back wall completely collapsed during the incident. Fire damage to the structure and contents are estimated at $90,000. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
