Structure Fire: 1600 Block of Chestnut

Structure Fire - Abilene Fire Department News

On August 2nd, 2022 at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Abilene fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 1600 block of Chestnut. Crews arrived on scene to find a single family residence fully involved and the next door residence with fire showing. Crews made an initial attack on the second house and were able to limit the damage. A second alarm was called to assist with extinguishment of the first residence. The first residence was a total loss and the second residence estimated damage is $30,000. All occupants were able to escape the structures and the Red Cross was notified to assist them. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
