On Friday, August 12, 2022 at approximately 01:00am crews with the Abilene Fire Department responded to the 800 block of Hickory Street in reference to a residential structure fire. On arrival, crews noted a single story residential structure fully involved with heavy smoke and fire showing. A second alarm was called due to the close proximity of exposures to the involved structure. An exterior attack took place due to the extent of the fire and the structural integrity of the residence. There was nobody residing in the residence at the time of the fire. The estimated damage is $60,000. The fire is under investigation.
