Fall is just around the corner and we can all agree that it will be a relief leaving behind one of the hottest Texas summers we’ve had in a while. During this time, our lawns and gardens certainly took a beating from the blistering heat and now it’s time to prepare them for some cooler fall temperatures.
Adults are invited to join us for another workshop led by the Big Country Texas Master Gardeners, where John Geib will be on hand to lead a free session on Fall Gardening! This event will be hosted on Friday, September 9 at 10:00AM in the auditorium, where Geib will be on hand to share an informative presentation to provide interested gardeners with some tips and tricks for successful preparedness and growing in our area.
The library’s partnership with the Big Country Texas Master Gardeners has been extremely successful. Drawing in an average audience of 30-40 guests per session, many of you have been able to utilize the techniques shared to help shape the strategies you use for your own lawns and gardens. We encourage you to come with something to take notes with, as well as your questions, and come ready to learn from a local professional at no cost to you.
Also, try to keep your calendars open for the second Friday mornings of the month at 10:00AM, when a new program will be offered for you to attend. We’ve learned about composting, firewise landscaping, planting with Texas natives, planting vegetables, and more, and like always, you may review these presentations at any time by visiting our YouTube and Facebook pages.
