On Sunday, November 27, 2022 at approximately 18:40 hours, crews with the Abilene Fire Department responded to the 4300 block of Antilley Road in reference to an alarm activation. On arrival, crews noticed an audible alarm going off. After a quick investigation, the crews were led to an apartment located within the complex. The exact apartment was pinpointed and entry was made with the assistance of the complex’s staff. Once entry was made, the crews noted smoke conditions inside the apartment. It was also noted that the sprinkler system was activated and as a result of a functioning suppression system, the fire was contained to the stovetop. No extension was noted and no other apartments suffered fire damage. Ventilation was conducted and no other hazards were noted. The damage caused approximately $5,000 in damage and the fire is ruled accidental.
