Structure Fire: 2000 Block of S Clack

Structure Fire - Abilene Fire Department News

On January 24, 2023 at approximately 7:26 p.m. the Abilene Fire Department responded to a structure fire located at a two-story apartment complex located in the 2000 block of South Clack. Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from the front door of the 1st floor apartment unit. An interior attack was made and the fire was contained to the kitchen area. The occupant was on scene and was the 911 caller. During the incident a water line ruptured, causing water damage to three other adjacent apartment units. Fire investigation revealed the fire was caused from a stove burner that ignited nearby combustible items. The fire is ruled accidental and damages are estimated at $10,000.
