Abilene Cyber Crimes Assists Area Agencies to Arrest Nine

Abilene, Texas – The Abilene Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit assisted the Department of Homeland Security office in San Angelo in the arrest of nine individuals from various locations for crimes against children.

The multi-agency operation which included the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Air Force, and other area law enforcement agencies, targeted suspects seeking to engage in sexual contact with minors in the San Angelo area. The two-day operation is the type of operation that the Abilene Cyber Crimes Unit assists with on a regular basis. These operations help bring to justice individuals who target our most vulnerable population through the internet and social media applications.

Child exploitation affects our communities throughout the state and the entire U.S. The Abilene Cyber Crimes Unit is excited to work with area agencies and use its resources to help bring those targeting our children to justice.

 Respectfully,

Rick Tomlin
