The Summer Reading Clubs at your Abilene Public Library are drawing to a close at the end of July. Those who have submitted their completed summer activity sheets will have the chance to win one of many summer gift bags. A special thanks goes to our friends from CALF (the Children’s Art + Literacy Festival) who have supplied the library with three (3) additional gift bags to be given to a child at each branch library.
Drawings will be done in August, and local youth will now be able to win one of 12 gift bags, the latest being provided by CALF. Each of the three CALF gift bags will contain great goodies for youth that fit within the summer theme of celebrating the works of CALF honoree Brian Lies. This includes copies of books by the illustrator, plush toys, and other fun items. It will make adults wish they could be kids again.
All it takes to win one is to return your activity sheets to the library before Saturday, July 29. For every five activities completed, you’ll receive an entry into the grand prize drawings for your age group. Winners will be announced in August with each branch giving away four gift bags for youth, two gift bags for teens, and one gift bag for adults, along with a $50 gift card for each of these groups at each branch. That means we have enough giveaways for 30 winners.
With the exception of the gift cards, no two prizes are alike so when the winners are announced, those who arrive sooner will get to choose between gift bags for their age group where multiple gift bags will be given out.
Special thanks go to our friends at CALF for supplying some awesome prizes, and to the Friends of the Abilene Public Library for funding the rest. Get those activity sheets in quick as you won’t want to miss your chance to snag one of these amazing prizes.
