ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department will begin increased traffic enforcement beginning Friday, July 14. “Operation Slow Down” will go towards helping change driving habits and make the roads safer for all drivers. Selected officers will target specific areas of Abilene by increasing enforcement for a two-week period, through a grant provided by the Texas Department of Transportation.
The Police Department and TxDot are teaming up to bring traffic enforcement, in hopes of having a positive impact on driving habits.
The program will run from July 14, through July 30. Abilene Police want to remind all drivers to practice defensive driving habits and slow down while on our roadways.
Respectfully,
