Local youth have the opportunity to participate in one final Art in the Park session with your South Branch Library before the Summer Reading Clubs draw to an end. Meet up with library staff this Friday, July 21 at 10:00AM at Redbud Park, across from the playground, and be ready to create art with us through making Sun Prints. All materials will be provided, and we can’t wait to have some fun outdoors with families.
More than 150 people joined us at our last Art in the Park session where we made art using squirt painting, and we hope you’ll return for this next session. Much like last time, we’ll have additional activities to take advantage of including cornhole gaming, bubble stations, and more. And what better way to cool down after having some fun in the sun than with popsicles, because yes, we’ll have that available too at the end of the program.
Art in the Park is a series created by Alyssa Crow, the South Branch Manager, as an extension of the Stories in the Park/Garden series to take library services outside of our doors and into city parks. Having been a program that’s run for more than a decade, we’re thrilled with how many families have joined us each year.
Mark your calendars for Friday, July 21 at 10:00AM and be sure to meetup with us at Redbud Park for some fun making art using the power of the sun. Spend the morning with your library then think about heading to the playground for expend even more energy, followed by a real cool down at the splash pad at the park to really make a morning of your outing with the library. You’ll be glad you did.
