Did you have a favorite stuffed animal growing up? One that you couldn’t part with, especially during bedtime? If your child has a stuffed animal that’s just as precious to them, we invite you to bring them to a special Stuffie Sleepover event at your South Branch Library on Saturday, August 12 at 4:00PM.
No, we won’t be locking your children inside the library overnight, but we will be asking them to voluntarily allow us to keep their animals safe for them for one night as we host a sleepover for them. By coming out to this program, your children will get their stuffed besties prepared for a nightly stay at the library with a craft session making little sleeping bags. We’ll provide every child with a pillowcase and the materials needed to fashion their own customized sleeping bag for their stuffed animal.
Then comes the hard part. At the end of the program, we’ll ask that you allow the library to keep their stuffed animals so they may have their own sleepover at the library. What will they do at night altogether and without their human owners? Will they watch movie? Will they enjoy a spa night? Will they get into some mayhem at the library? We don’t know, but we’ll be taking photos of what they do overnight and posting them on our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram the following Sunday. It’s a great way for you to see for yourself what they get into at night when no one’s awake. Also on that Sunday, you may return to pick up your stuffed animal.
Don’t miss out on this unique program for your child to see what their favorite stuffed animal does with their friends inside a library at night. For more information, contact Rachel Jones at 325-698-7565 or via email at Rachel.Jones@abilenetx.gov.
