[ARCHIVED] Police Seek Possible Victims

Car Dealerships Targeted

The Abilene Police Department is seeking automobile car lots in the area to include, Amarillo, Snyder, Sweetwater, Eastland, and possibly other areas, and locally, who may have been targeted by two or more suspects attempting to steal vehicles from car lots/dealerships. The Department was made aware of two Hispanic males who attempted to steal a vehicle from a south Abilene car lot by pretending to be interested in purchasing the vehicle on Wednesday, June 17. The suspects are accused of switching the keys and possibly come back at a later time to steal the vehicle. The two suspects were driving a white BMW with a black spoiler.

During this investigation, numerous keys from various vehicles were discovered. Detectives are attempting to find the vehicles these keys or fobs, belong to so they may be returned. If you believe you have been victimized by these suspects and are missing keys or key fobs, you may contact the Abilene Police Department at (325) 676-4550.
