[ARCHIVED] APD Warns Businesses with Fleet Vehicles Being Targeted by Thieves

The Abilene Police Department wants to warn businesses who own fleet vehicles about criminals targeting vehicle catalytic converters. In recent days, we have received reports from two different churches where their vans were targeted and the catalytic converter cut out of the vehicles. We ask churches and other businesses with fleet vehicles to be advised of the potential for this crime. Thieves often target this specific item from vehicles due to their precious metals located inside.

If you see anything suspicious or notice that your vehicles have been tampered with in this manner, contact the Abilene Police Department non-emergency number, 673-8331, to file a report.
