[ARCHIVED] Structure Fire: 2000 Block of South Clack

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on August 20th, 2020, the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at the 2000 block of South Clack Street. Crews arrived to find an apartment building with smoke showing. A second alarm was called shortly after initial crews were dispatched allowing multiple units to respond quickly and assist in fire extinguishment and evacuation. In all 12 units were affected by smoke and/or water damage with one unit having fire damage. The Red Cross was notified and arrived on scene to assist residents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the estimated value of damage is $60,000.
