Downloadables and streaming content are popular services at your Abilene Public Library, and free to all library cardholders. rbDigital was a great service we offered that provided you with a selection of eAudiobooks that couldn’t be found on the Hoopla or OverDrive platforms to borrow and download. We’re sad to inform you that rbDigital will be going away, but you won’t be missing any of the great content it offered. The entire collection from this service will be transferred to OverDrive on September 8.
What does this mean for you? After Sept. 8, you’re free to remove and delete the rbDigital app from your smartphones and tablets. In its place, make sure that you have the OverDrive, or Meet Libby, app. The content you once saw on rbDigital will be integrated into the OverDrive platform and this will make it easier for locating materials without having to switch back and forth between the two apps.
Remember, access to these digital services are free with a valid Abilene Public Library card. Library cards are free for residents of the City of Abilene, $10.00/yr if you reside outside the city limits. For more information on signing up, visit our Library Card page online.
