ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department will host an award and promotion ceremony to announce the promotion of two officers to the rank of Sergeant and award Life-Saving awards to 3 other individuals. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at 2 p.m. at the Police Department, 4565 South First St.
School Nurse Jennifer Hoffman and Texas Tech Nursing Student Grant Gamble, will receive Lifesaving Award recognition for saving the life of a 12-year-old AISD student on October 6. Officer Matt Armbruster will receive the Lifesaving Award for saving the life of an infant who was in a vehicle crash which left him unresponsive on March 11.
Officers Johnathan Ramirez and Chris Milliorn will be officially promoted to Sergeant. Officer Ramirez began his career with the Abilene Police Department in 2006 and Officer Milliorn began his career with the Abilene Police Department in 2012. These officers have served in various positions within the Department throughout their careers. Both Sergeants will be assigned as supervisors within the Patrol Division. We congratulate both Sgt. Ramirez and Sgt. Milliorn on their promotion and their continued service to the community.
