ABILENE, TX – A 31-year-old Clyde man died in a motorcycle crash on Thursday, October 29, 2020. A motorcycle ridden by 31-year-old James Rowdy Stone was being pursued by an unmarked Law Enforcement vehicle through parts of north Abilene. The unmarked unit, at some point south of I-20, stopped pursuit while heading northbound on Grape Street. The motorcycle attempted to pass a pickup truck that was turning onto Jameson St. The motorcycle collided with the truck sending the rider onto the pavement. Dispatch received the call of the crash at 4:23 p.m. Stone was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. This investigation is ongoing.
