[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Vaccines for Firefighters & Staff

The Abilene Fire Department has provided an opportunity for firefighters and staff to receive the Covid19 Pfizer vaccine or the Moderna vaccine. As of today Wednesday December 30, 2020, approximately 60 personnel received the Pfizer vaccine and 26 personnel the Moderna vaccine. Additional personnel requesting the vaccine will be able to receive it through next week. 

Firefighters who have received the vaccine have reported mild reactions such as sore arms, headaches, slight fevers and fatigue. All 86 vaccinations are considered successful and now awaiting the second dose. The second dose will be scheduled depending on the vaccine received.
