[ARCHIVED] Structure Fire: 1900 Block of Walnut

On February 9, 2021 at approximately 2:30 p.m. the Abilene Fire Department responded to a structure fire located in the 1900 block of Walnut. Fire crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames showing from a detached shed that had been converted into a living quarters. The shed was fully involved and the fire quickly spread to other items in the yard as well as two storage buildings of the neighboring address. Crews were forced to make a defensive, exterior attack. All occupants were accounted for. The shed that the fire originated in was a total loss and the two storage building sustained heavy damage to the exteriors. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Property damage is estimated at $15,000.
