On February 13, 2021 at approximately 7:45 pm, the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire located at the 4500 block of Sierra Sunset. Crews arrived to find the smoke and fire showing from the top of the chimney. An attack was made from the outside of the residence ultimately extinguishing the fire. The residents were home at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate without any injury. Fire damage was contained to the exterior of the structure estimated at $2000.00, the fire was determined to be accidental.
