Alyssa Crow was on hand to be the featured speaker from the Abilene Public Library on literacy resources we have to offer to families to checkout. We all know libraries have been a staple for being able to check out books and audiobooks for youth to develop their reading skills, but that's not all we have to offer. Alyssa was happy to speak out our vibrant literacy kits collection, now available at all three library locations, but first began at your South Branch Library thanks to a grant received from the Texas Book Festival Grant.
At the time, we were able to provide a selection of literacy kits complete with books, CD's, activities, and supplemental materials designed to help youth develop stronger literacy skills outside of the library and for the grade school demographic. Over the years, all branch locations have come to utilize these kits, and now we've even added a new collection of literacy materials with our Wonderbooks collection, thanks in partnership with Playaway.
Watch Alyssa on a KTAB 4U segment as she explains more about these services, and make sure to come out and check them out for your families.
