I request permission to use the Library’s display case. I have read and understand the Library’s policy and procedures on exhibits. My exhibit is consistent with the conditions of the policy and I agree to comply with all the terms of the policy. I understand that, until I receive confirmation from the Exhibit Coordinator, the dates and areas selected above are tentative.
The Abilene Public Library welcomes the opportunity to allow community groups, organizations, or individuals to use the various exhibit cases of the library. Space is provided for exhibits of an educational, cultural, civic, or recreational nature, rather than for strictly commercial purposes. Acceptance of an exhibit by the library does not constitute an endorsement by the library of the group’s individual’s policies or beliefs.
It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to set up and remove the exhibit. Exhibits will be scheduled for a period of one calendar month to begin with the first working day of the month and to end with the last working day of the month. Exceptions must be approved by library administration. The library is not responsible for any item exhibited. The library cannot provide storage for the property of organizations or individuals exhibiting in the library.
Exhibits that (A) would tend to incite or produce imminent lawless action, (B) are obscene, (C) are obviously false or contain misleading information, (D) are defamatory, or (E) are purely commercial advertising will not be displayed.
Concerns, questions or complaints about library exhibits should be referred to library administration.
All displays must be approved by library administration and must adhere to exhibit policies.

A small sign with the collection information is encouraged. Staff can assist you in creating a sign.
Display cases are locked and staff will take all precautions to ensure that your items will remain safe. However, neither the Library, City of Abilene, nor the Mall of Abilene can be held responsible for damage or loss.
The exhibitor is responsible for the installation and dismantling of the display when the library is open. Exhibit installations should be completed by the end of the business day on the first open day of the month and removed before the end of the business day on the last open day of the month unless other arrangements are approved by library administration.
Staff use of display cases takes priority. While every attempt will be made to accommodate your desired display date, the library retains the right to reschedule or cancel displays.
