Stop by from 10:00AM to 6:00PM and you can pick up your kit that has all of the materials and instructions you’ll need to then take home and make a fun craft to enjoy.   2. STEAM Stories: Dot Day

    Don’t miss the next STEAM Stories session at your Main Library where each event will feature a story kids will love, along with a STEAM activity, or demonstration, to go along with it. At this session, we’ll be celebrating International Dot Day, a holiday to celebrate creativity and self-expression. Come out and listen to “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds. Afterwards, we’ll be making dot art using dot markers, dot cut outs, and more. We’ll supply all the materials needed for this event designed for elementary aged youth.

Meeting on the third Thursday nights of each month, this group reads everything from fiction to nonfiction, classics to bestsellers. For this month, we’ll be discussing “The Library Book” by Susan Orlean, which is a mesmerizing and uniquely compelling book that manages to tell the broader story of libraries and librarians in a way that has never been done before. Don’t pass up on being part of this club at your library.

    Don’t miss the next Open Mic Night session at your South Branch Library. Designed for all ages, this is the time where you can show off your talents and skills for a captivated audience. Whether you sing or dance, recite poetry or tell jokes, all are welcome to sign up for a spot to show your skills. Registration is required to attend and we limit each session to 11 performers each performing for up to 5 minutes. If there’s time left at the end of the program, we’ll take walk-ins as well.
